Dear friends and family of Alamo City,

This is a critical time for San Antonio, and it is important that we have consistency in city leadership. As a senior city council member, I have a responsibility to offer the citizens a broader choice, to continue to use my knowledge and experience to serve this community. Not only am I a two-term council member, having accomplished great things with our current Mayor, but I serve in key leadership positions. This has allowed me to be actively involved in the present issues that face San Antonio, recognizing the opportunity to make decisions that will significantly impact our city for generations to come.

We Need A Leader Who Can

• Ensure continuity through strong direction;
• Build consensus among stakeholders while our needs grow and our resources shrink;
• Boost confidence among citizens of this community during these times of economic and social distress;
• Have the courage to make the hard decisions when all negotiations and deliberations have failed.

• We are recognized by Inc’s Magazine as one of the top 10 large cities for doing business
• We have a nationally recognized municipallyowned utility and water companies
• We have the best credit rating of most cities in America
• We have the best city manger in the country
• The Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives is from San Antonio
• The Texas Secretary of State is from San Antonio
• Our Texas Supreme Court Justice is from San Antonio We are “Military City USA”
  

I Have Unwavering Dedication

• Two-term City Councilmember with a long list of accomplishments
• Active in local government at City Hall for the past 8 years and has been a public servant for almost 20 years
• Chair of the Metropolitan Planning Organization
• Tri-chair of the Military Transformation Taskforce (BRAC 2005)
• National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials and other national and statewide committees
• Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/Urban Studies
